Hello families,
I hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready for week 3 of kindergarten! Remember that we have our homework assignments on Seesaw. They are due on Friday. Coyote will have another Item Distribution on September 9th that will take place after school. I will have more details as the time gets closer. For those who are going to day care during school hours, please make sure your student has the following books this week. -ABC chart booklet -Green Eureka workbook -Super Learning Kit -Journey's Reader Notebook -Hardcover book tilted "California Journeys" with a bear on the cover Something that would also be helpful for all students would be to place a sticky note on the last page we have used in our workbook. This can help students find the page we need quicker if there is not someone nearby to help. -ABC chart booklet place a sticky note at the letter k page -Journey's Reader Notebook place on page 1 (not week 1) and top right corner says "Lesson One" -Eureka Math place sticky note on page 33 Finally, please help ensure your child is able to do their best work by making sure all distractions (toys, games, siblings) are not near during class time. Another important part is to have a table or flat surface for your child to be able to work and write on top of. Please let me know if you do not have any of the above supplies or if you have any questions. Thank you and have a great week!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I wanted to reach out with some additional information on work that students can complete at home. First and foremost, our homework is on Seesaw and that is the priority in terms of completing work. However, I've included some additional work in the materials you picked up from Coyote last Thursday or Friday. Your first option is the packet that looks like the image below. This will help students with letter sounds and letter recognition. This is something that students will need to complete with supervision. The directions are fairly straight forward. You can complete the entire packet at your own pace.
The last extra bit of work that students can work on would be from our ABC book, the white one with the ABC chart on the front. We reviewed letters A-E last week, therefore you can have students complete the pages A-E on their own. Students can color the pictures that start with the letter, color the bubbles that have the correct letter and also work on letter writing. Please do not go beyond the letter that we have reviewed.
Please remember that these are not mandatory, rather additional work that your child can do. Completing work with paper and pencil are still important skills that they need to learn and practice. Same with learning to write their first and last names. I appreciate all of your help in watching your child and ensuring they get the correct practice. Hello students and families! I am so excited to tell you that you are a part of my class this school year! I know that this school year is very different from any other, but I know that with patience, open communication and some positivity we will make it through together. Please see your email you listed in Aeries for more information on how to access our Zoom classroom. Please note there will be an item distribution Thursday August 13, Kindergarten pick up time is at 9AM. There will be a second pick up time Friday August 14th between 11AM-2PM. Please see the below information for our schedule, supplies and which class you are in (Early Bird or Late Bird). I will be around all weekend, so if you have any questions, please feel free to email me with any questions. I look forward to our year together!
